I just subscribed to MAPS LLC's RBL+ service. They gave me a zone name to perform lookups against, and I've entered it into my list of MAPS Servers. It doesn't seem to work. I've e-mailed them, and they said .. zonename.mail-abuse.org is the name of the zone, not a host - it contains A nslookup 2.0.0.127.rbl-plus.mail-abuse.org The answer you will receive is 127.1.0.5 My question to Logsat is does Spamfilter perform lookups in this format? How does the entire MAPS lookup proccess work with Spamfilter? |

Instead of putting true put false. ie site1=rbl-plus.mail-abuse.org, false site2=formmail.relays.monkeys.com, true site3=bl.spamcop.net, true site4=ztl.dorkslayers.com, true site5=no-more-funn.moensted.dk, true site6=proxies.relays.monkeys.com, true site7=block.blars.org, true site8=relays.osirusoft.com, true site9=blackholes.wirehub.net, true site10=t1.bl.reynolds.net.au, true site11=blackholes.intersil.net, true site12=blackholes.five-ten-sg.com, true site13=bl.spamcop.net, true site14=sbl.spamhaus.org, true site15=sbl.spamhaus.org, true site16=dnsbl.njabl.org, true site17=spam.dnsrbl.net, true site18=relays.ordb.org, true site19=dnsbl.sorbs.net, true site20=bl.deadbeef.com, true site21=orbs.dorkslayers.com, true site22=proxies.relays.monkeys.com, true site23=blacklist.spambag.org, true site24=china.blackholes.us, true site25=korea.blackholes.us, true site26=taiwan.blackholes.us, true site27=brazil.blackholes.us, true site28=china.blackholes.us, true site29=brazil.blackholes.us, true site30=bl.spamcop.net, true site31=rackspace.blackholes.us, true site32=list.dsbl.org, true site33=bl.spamcop.net, true site34=bl.spamcop.net, true ;site6=dun.dnsrbl.net, true |

Wouldn't setting it to false disable it? If not, what is the purpose of setting it to false?

Don't know why but that is how is works. You turn it off by commenting it out.

Setting the dnsbl to False DOES NOT disable it. It tells the SpamFiltr APP that the zone format is the reverse of a normal dnsbl. ... meaning the IP is in the "forward" direction. Most dnsbl's use a reverse direction because the zone file is easier to understand and to query. example: if the ip you are looking up is 209.140.81.18, the NORMAL (or True) setting will do a lookup as follows: nslookup 18.81.140.209.relays.ordb.org Dan S. |
