We have just uploaded at http://www.logsat.com/SpamFilter/beta.asp the new beta distribution. This update does not require any database changes. There are minor changes in the web pages to allow users to login unders a different email address, and to properly format the date header in the self-registration email sent to users. Please note that this beta build will expire on 7/1/2003! The revision history for this build is: // New to VersionNumber = '1.2.0.151'; Roberto Franceschetti |

The update is great. The changes to the web page were easy to find with the comments. You guys should keep doing this at least until it gets out of beta. It made porting the chages to my web site easy. So far so good, no Access Violations. Great job!!!!! |

Roberto, The buttons still grayed out in the quarantine at this new version. Im using Access database. When I start SpamFilter the buttons are available. Hitting the refresh button the list is refreshed and then the 3 buttons are grayed out until I restart the service. Did you check the period that SpamFilter deletes quarantined messages ? 1 hour or only once a day ? Thanks, Abel. |

Abel, We specifically tested for all your issues before releasing this build, and actually were able to duplicate and fix them all with this build. Sorting works fine too here (also with MS Access) Can you please confirm that: you are using the MS Access database that came with the latest distribution zip file If you can email us a copy of your spamfilter.ini file and, if you are using a UDL file for connecting, a copy of that as well, we'll take a look. Roberto, Im using build .152. The MS Access database is the original one of this build. My Connection String is: "FILE NAME=C:\Program Files\SpamFilter\Database\SpamFilterAccess.udl" I will e-mail you all the files that you´re asking. Thanks for the help, Abel. |

I am having the exact same problem. I'm using the database supplied with the new build, and my connection string for the UDL is C:\Program files\SpamFilter\Database\SpamFilter.mdb and using .152 build. Using access database.I'll e-mail my ini file.

Upgrading my MDAC 2.53.6200.2 (2.5 SP3) to version 2.7 SP1 solved the problem. Thanks to Roberto for pointing me to the right direction. Abel. |

I tried to upgrade to 2.7 SP1 also from the same version as Abel, but it didn't work. Same symptoms appear. Does anyone know how to remove the MDAC components completely so I can do a clean install of 2.7 SP1? Thanks |

Abel, what windows version are you running? I'm running W2K, and MS says I need to reinstall the OS in order to reinstall MDAC. I cannot remove MDAC because the OS is too dependent on it, and will crash without MDAC. Thanks |
